Abstract

Description
本出願は、(a)2005年7月25日に提出された「血管の電気刺激」と題する米国仮特許出願第60/702,491号及び(b)2005年9月28日に提出された「血管の電気刺激」と題する米国仮特許出願第60/721,728号(両方の出願は参照によって本明細書に組み込まれる)の利益を主張する。
本発明は一般的に言って植込み式医療装置に関するものであり、特に血管を刺激し置き換えるための方法及び装置に関するものである。
Dev他に対する米国特許第6,865,416号及び6,347,247号(参照によって本明細書に組み込まれる)は、血管に電気インパルスを与えるステップを含む血管の拡張またはこれを通る血流を誘発または増大するための方法について説明している。416号及び247号出願の発明者によれば、電気インパルスによる血管拡張の誘発または増大は血管に与えられる電流によって生じる直接的影響または現在一酸化窒素として特定されている内皮誘導弛緩因子(EDRF)または血管細胞に与えられる電気パルスによって引き起こされるその他の血管拡張物質の放出など血管拡張を促進する因子の放出または刺激から生じる間接的効果から引き起こされるようである。1つの実施態様において、内腔内に電気インパルスを与えるために電気穿孔技術を組み込む二重バルーンカテーテルシステムが使用される。

本発明の一部の実施態様において、電極装置は胚幹細胞など幹細胞から血管(すなわち、静脈または動脈)を派生させる処置中に電気刺激を与えるために使用される。その代わりにまたはそれに加えて、電極装置は血管が患者体内に植え込まれた後に幹細胞から派生した血管に電気刺激を与えるために使用される。さらにその代わりにまたはそれに加えて、電極装置は、別の技法によって作られる組織を基盤とする血管に電気刺激を与えるために使用される。この種の刺激によって引き起こされるNO生成の増大は血管にとって有益であろう。例えば、血管への幹細胞の分化プロセスを助けるだろう。

本発明の一部の実施態様において、心臓周期の第一期(例えば、心収縮期または心拡張期)中第一の断面形状をとるように構成されかつ心臓周期の第二期(例えば、心拡張期また心収縮期)中第二の断面形状を取るように構成される人工動脈が提供される。一般に、どちらの断面形状も楕円形であり、異なる長さを持つ長径を持つ。一部の応用の場合、断面形状のうち1つはほぼ円形である(すなわち、長径と短径がほぼ同じである)。各心臓周期中のこのような形状変化は一般に人工動脈が時間の経過に伴い閉塞する尤度を減少する。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、1つまたはそれ以上の電極は患者の眼の中にまたはこれに隣接して配置され、眼病を治療するために電極に隣接してNO生成を誘発する信号を与えるために駆動される。例えば、緑内障を治療するためにNO生成の増大を用いて眼内圧力を減少することができる。その代わりにまたはそれに加えて、NO生成によって生じる動脈拡張によって誘発される血流の増大は加齢性黄斑変性(AMD)に見られるような視神経の変性を最小限に抑える。その代わりにまたはそれに加えて、1つまたはそれ以上の網膜動脈の血流の増大は糖尿病性網膜症を治療または予防する。

一部の応用の場合、電極装置20を用いる刺激は血管30の治癒をもたらす。例えば、刺激は、(a)血管のアテローム性硬化のレベルを下げ、(b)血管に対して抗炎症及び(または)抗血液凝固効果を有し、(c)内皮細胞成長を増大し、(d)平滑筋細胞成長を減少し(例えば、血管の閉塞を減少する)、かつ(または)プラーク活性を抑える。一部の応用の場合、電極装置20は少なくとも1ヶ月または少なくとも数ヶ月など少なくとも1週間の期間信号を与えるために電極32を駆動するように構成される。このような長期の刺激は血管の治癒に貢献するだろう。血管30が冠状動脈を含む応用の場合、電極装置20を用いる刺激は一般に冠状動脈を拡張し、それによって心臓虚血を治療する。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、電極装置20は、患者に植え込まれている人工血管移植片に信号を与えるのに適する。内皮細胞はしばしば移植片の内腔の中へ成長する。この成長は一般に望ましいものと見られる。ただし、この種の成長は時には血小板を蓄積させ、それによって内腔を閉塞させる。電極装置20によって与えられる信号は、内腔における内皮細胞によるNO分泌の増大を誘発するように構成される。このNO分泌の増大は血小板を脱凝集する。その代わりにまたはそれに加えて、電極装置20によって与えられる信号は人工移植片の内腔における細胞成長を刺激するように構成される。例えばW.L.Gore & Associates(Newark,DE,USA)社製造の合成血管移植片にこのような刺激法を使用することができる。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、電極装置20は、少なくとも1つのステント40を含む。一部の応用の場合、図1に示される通り電極32はステント40に結合される。その代わりにまたはそれに加えて、ステント40の構造要素はさらに電極32のうちの1つまたはそれ以上として作用する。一部の応用の場合、電極32は図1に示される通りリング電極を含む。一部の応用の場合、電極32は細長いシリンダを含み、それを通って血液が流れることができる(この形態は図には示されていない)。1つの実施態様において、電極32は中空ではなく、電極はこれを通って流れない。その代わりに、例えば電極はポイント電極であるか、または隣接する組織を多少貫通するニードル電極の形をとることができる。このように、特定の用途に応じて電極32は妥当に様々な形状をとることができることが分かるはずである。
図2を参照すると、本発明の1つの実施態様に従ってステント40は分岐ステント50を含むものとして示されている。制御ユニット34は、一般にステントと血管の壁36との間などステント外部での血小板凝集を減少するために血管30の壁36によるNO分泌増大を誘発するのに適する。一部の応用の場合、電極装置20は2つまたはそれ以上のステント40を含み、そのうち少なくとも第一のステントは血管30の第一の通路52に配置するのに適し、少なくとも第二のステントは血管30の第二の通路54の分岐56付近に配置されるのに適する。
図1及び2に示されるステント40の特定の格子形態は単なる例である。ステント40は技術上既知の他の形態を含むことができる。一部の応答の場合、ステント40は二重螺旋に配列される2つの要素を含む(この形態は図には示されていない)。一般に、要素のうち一方は電極32の陽極として作用し、他方は陰極として作用する。
図3は本発明の1つの実施態様に従った電極装置20の別の形態の略図である。この実施態様において、電極はバネ状であり、拡張して血管30の壁36と接触するように構成される。例えば、電極は、バネ状のリブ形要素を形成するように成形される。一部の応用の場合、電極32は壁の形状を変化させるのに充分な機械的力を壁36に与えように構成される。一部の応用の場合、電極装置20は、圧受容体付近に配置され、圧受容体に電気信号を与えかつ圧受容体付近の壁36の形状を変化させるように構成される。一部の応用の場合、電極のリブのバネ性は、機械、電気または熱手段などによって調整可能である(例えば、電極の少なくとも一部はニチノールを含むことができる)。リブの一部が弾性を持たなくなるようにリブのこの部分をチェンバの中へスライドさせることによってバネ性を機械的に調節することができる。
一部の応用の場合、電極装置20は電極のリブと直接または間接的に接触して配置される1つまたはそれ以上の圧電性要素を含む。血管30にパルスを与えると、圧電性要素は電気信号を与えるのに充分な電力を発生する。
図4は本発明の1つの実施態様に従った電極装置20のさらに別の形態の略図である。この実施態様において、電極32は拡張して血管30の壁36と接触するように構成される。電極32はカテーテル60を用いて血管30の中へ挿入される。電極は収縮状態でカテーテルの中に保管される。カテーテルが血管の希望の位置まで前進させられた後、カテーテルは血管から引き出され、電極を露出して、電極が拡張して血管の壁に接するようにする。一部の応用の場合、カテーテル60はさらに治療後血管30から電極32を取り除くために使用される。カテーテルは電極に被さるように前進させられ、電極を収縮させてカテーテルに保管されるようにする。電極を保持するカテーテルはその後血管から引き出される。その代わりに、血管内における電極の方位のおかげで電極を接続するリード線を引っ張ることによって電極をその血管との接触点から解放することができるので、電極はカテーテルを使用せずに引き出される。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、制御ユニット34は所定の時に電極32の一部のみを駆動するのに適する。一部の応用の場合、制御ユニット34は、1組のワイヤを通じて電極の全てに多重化信号を送ることによって電極の一部のみを駆動する。例えば、制御ユニット34は時間分割、周波数分割またはデジタル多重化を使用することができる。この種の多重化を可能にするために、各電極は、一般に制御ユニット20によって生成される信号がその電極付近の組織に電極が電流を与えるようにさせるためのものであるか否かを解釈するマイクロチップを含む。この種の多重化技術を使用することによって、一般に電極の全てを制御するために数本(例えば、3−4本)のワイヤだけを使用すればよい。
次に図1−4を参照する。一部の応用の場合、制御ユニット34は、下記のパラメータのうち1つまたはその両方を持つように電極32によって与えられる信号を構成するのに適する:約3から約20Hzまで(例えば、約5から約10Hzまで)の周波数及び(または)約5V未満の電圧。一部の応用の場合、信号は単相であり、他の応用の場合信号は二相である。一部の応用の場合制御ユニットはデューティサイクル(例えば、約1−15%または約15−50%)を有する信号を与える。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、電極装置20の全てまたは一部は生分解性であり、ある期間血管30の中に滞留した後分解するのに適する。一部の応用の場合、血管30の中に配置される電極装置20の一部だけ生分解性であるが、制御ユニット34は生分解性ではない。1つの実施態様において、血管30の中の電極装置20の部分は生分解性カーボンポリマーまたは生分解性シュガーポリマーを含む。適切な電極特性を与えるために、これらのポリマーの一方または両方の中に、適宜、金属粒子が分散されている。

本発明の1つの実施態様において、電極装置20は非血管平滑筋(例えば、胃腸管の平滑筋)と接触するよう配置されるのに適する。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、電極装置20は患者の眼の中に配置され、例えば糖尿病性網膜症を治療するために網膜動脈の拡張を誘発するのに適する。一部の応用の場合、電極装置20は接触するまたは隣接する組織の中へ電流を送るために誘導的にエネルギーを受ける小さいコイルを含む。組織の中の電流の流れを誘導的に駆動することによってまたはコイルに結合される電極を通じてエネルギーを放出することができる。外科的制約または治療対象の特定の病理に基づいて適宜、眼球の前部または後部にまたはその代わりに網膜の後にコイルを配置することができる。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、1つまたはそれ以上の電極は患者の眼の中またはこれに隣接して配置され、眼病を治療するために電極に隣接してNO生成を誘発する信号を与えるために駆動される。例えば、緑内障を治療するためにNO生成の増大を使用して眼内圧力を下げることができる。その代わりにまたはそれに加えて、NO生成によって誘発される血流の増大は、加齢性黄斑変性(AMD)に見られるような視神経変性を最小限に抑える。その代わりにまたはそれに加えて、上に述べたように、1つまたはそれ以上網膜動脈における血流の増大は糖尿病性網膜症を治療または予防する。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、緑内障を治療するためのシステムは、角膜の周りに配置されるのに適する1つまたはそれ以上(例えば、ちょうど2つの)の電極、及び眼の線維性帯網付近のNO生成を誘発する信号を与えるために電極を駆動する制御ユニットを含む。このNO生成は線維性帯網を通ってシュレム管までの眼房水の流れを強化し、それによって眼内圧力を下げて緑内障を治療する。
一部の応用の場合、制御ユニットは眼の中に配置されるように構成され(充分小さいことを含めて)、システムは制御ユニットに電力を供給するように構成される光電池を含む。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、電極装置20は、胚幹細胞など幹細胞から血管(すなわち、静脈または動脈)が派生する過程において電気刺激を与えるために使用される。その代わりにまたはそれに加えて、電極装置20は血管が患者に植え込まれた後幹細胞から派生した血管に電気刺激を与えるために使用される。電気刺激によって生じるNO生成の増大は血管にとって有利である可能性がある。例えば幹細胞を血管に分化する過程を助ける可能性がある。例えば上記のLevenberg S他による論文において説明される幹細胞を血管に分化させるための技法と一緒にこの刺激法を使用することができる。
図5を参照すると、本発明の1つの実施態様に従った患者の上行大動脈72へ挿入されたカウンターパルセイション装置70の略図が示されている。図5は限定的ではなく例として上行大動脈72の中への挿入を示しており、本発明の範囲は、その代わりにまたはこれに加えて、下行大動脈の中への装置の挿入を含む。それに加えて、望ましいカウンターパルセイション効果の範囲に応じて装置70のサイズを図5に示されるよりかなり長く(例えば、5−15cmまたは15−30cm)できることが特記される。
カウンターパルセイション装置70は1つまたはそれ以上の電極74及び植込み式または外部制御ユニット76を含む。制御ユニット76は心収縮期に上行大動脈72の壁に電気信号を与えるために電極74を駆動しかつ壁によるNO分泌の増大を誘発するように信号を構成するのに適する。心収縮期に壁はエネルギーを蓄積し心臓への圧力が減少するようにNO分泌の増大は壁を拡張する。心拡張期に、壁は絞窄し、蓄積されたエネルギーを放出し、それによって血圧及び冠状動脈血流を増大する。一部の応用の場合、制御ユニット76は、さらに心拡張期に大動脈72の急速な絞窄を強化するように構成される刺激を与えるために電極74を駆動するように構成される。
1つの実施態様において、電極74は心収縮期に約1−30Hz(例えば、約1−20Hzまたは約10−30Hz、一般には約10Hz)で約1−10mA(例えば、約1−7mAまたは約4−10mA、一般には約4−5mA)の信号を与えるために駆動される。一部の応用の場合、心拡張期中に与えられる信号は心収縮期の対応する値の約1.5倍から4倍までの振幅及び(または)信号周波数を有する。1つの実施態様において、電極74は、心拡張期に約15から100Hzまで例えば約50Hzの周波数で約5−20mA(例えば、約10mA)の信号を与えるために駆動される。
一部の応用の場合、カウンターパルセイション装置70は約25cmの長さであり、上行大動脈72の10%の拡張及び25cmの上行大動脈に沿って約40ccの体積増大を誘発する。一部の応用の場合、カウンターパルセイション装置70は、うっ血性心不全(CHF)の患者を治療するために使用されるのに対して、他の応用の場合、この装置は収縮期高血圧の患者など非CHFの患者を治療するために使用される。
一部の応用の場合、カウンターパルセイション装置70は心電図モニタまたは圧力モニタなど少なくとも1つの生理学センサ78を含む。制御ユニット76はセンサ78によって発せられるセンサ信号に応じて信号発信の1つまたはそれ以上のパラメータ(タイミングパラメータなど)を決定する。一部の応用の場合、制御ユニット76は心拍ごとに信号を与えるために電極74を駆動するのに適し、他の応用の場合、信号は心拍数回ごとなど心拍ごとより少ない頻度で与えられる。一部の応用の場合、制御ユニットは、心収縮期の開始より僅か前(例えば、収縮期の開始50ms未満前)に一般に大動脈の拡張誘発を強化する心収縮期信号を与え始めるために電極を駆動するように構成される。
一部の応用の場合、カウンターパルセイション装置70は、その代わりにまたはそれに加えて、大動脈がもっと楕円形の形状をとるようにすることによって、心収縮期の少なくとも一部において上行大動脈72(または下行大動脈)を機械的に拡張するように構成される要素を含む。一部の応用の場合この要素は大動脈内部に配置されるのに対して、他の応用の場合要素は大動脈外部に配置される。例えば、要素は、電気、圧電性要素及び(または)液圧を用いて要素の形状を変化させるために駆動される1つまたはそれ以上のマグネット及び(または)コイルを含むことができる。一部の応用の場合、要素は機械的力を与え、かつ電極74のうち1つまたはそれ以上として機能する。電気信号及び機械的力の両方が心収縮期に与えられる応用の場合、カウンターパルセイション効果は電気誘導拡張、機械誘導断面形状変化及び心収縮期の大動脈の自然な拡張の組み合わせによって強化される。
一部の応用の場合、カウンターパルセイション装置70は大動脈以外の動脈に応用される。
図6を参照すると、本発明の1つの実施態様に従った人工動脈100の断面略図が示されている。人工動脈100は一般に冠状動脈バイパス手術のための移植片として使用される。一部の応用の場合、人工動脈100は5mm未満または3mm未満など7mm未満の直径を有する。人工動脈100は心臓周期の第一期(例えば、心収縮期または心拡張期)に第一の断面形状をとり、心臓周期の第二期(例えば、心拡張期または心収縮期)に第二の断面形状をとるように構成される。一般に、断面形状の一方または両方は楕円形であり、それぞれ異なる長さL1及びL2の長径を有する。一部の応用の場合、断面形状のうち1つは実質的に円形である。一部の応用の場合、L1対L2の比は1.1、1.2、1.3、1.4または1.5より大きい。各心臓周期中のこのような形状変化は一般に人工動脈100が時間の経過に伴い閉塞する尤度を減少する。特定の理論に拘束されることなく、発明者は、筋肉の動きによって生じる骨格筋の動脈の頻繁な形状変化はこの種の動脈の閉塞を予防するのに役立つという仮説を立てている。人工動脈100の形状変化はこの同じ一般的に有利な影響を持つ可能性がある。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、電極装置は1つまたはそれ以上の電極を含む。電極装置は、電極が血管の外部において血管と常に電気的に通信するように動脈など血管の外部の血管付近に配置されるように構成される。植込み式または外部制御ユニットは、血管に電気信号を与えるために電極を駆動しかつ血管の壁による一酸化窒素(NO)分泌の増大を誘発するように信号を構成するように構成される。一部の応用の場合、電極装置は複数の電極を含み、制御ユニットは、ランダムにまたは準ランダムに電極のサブセットを活性化しかつサブセットに含まれる電極を反復的に変化させるように構成される。一部の応用の場合、電極装置は内面を有するチューブの形状を持ち、この内面に電極が結合される。一部の応用の場合、電極装置は少なくとも1本の細長いリード線を含み、リード線は、血管に中に配置されかつ血管外部の電極と反対の極性を有する電極として作用するように構成される。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、システムは電極装置及び植込み式または外部制御ユニットを含む。電極装置は圧受容体付近の血管の中または外に配置されるように構成される1つまたはそれ以上の電極を含む。制御ユニットは、動脈の壁によるNO分泌を誘導する電気信号を血管に与えるために電極を駆動する。このようなNO分泌は血管の壁の拡張を生じ、それによって圧受容体を活性化する。一部の応用の場合、システムは、心臓周期の特徴を検知するためのセンサを含み、制御ユニットは信号発信をこの特徴と同期化するように構成される。例えば、1心拍ごとにまたは2心拍または3心拍ごとなどn心拍ごとに信号を与えるように制御ユニットを構成することができる。一部の応用の場合、制御ユニットは心収縮期にのみ信号を与える。一部の応用の場合、システムは圧力センサを含み、制御ユニットは検知された血圧に応じて信号を与えるために電極装置を駆動する。例えば、血管は頚動脈または大動脈弓付近の大動脈である。
その代わりにまたはそれに加えて、システムは上述の通り心収縮期などに圧受容体付近の血管を機械的に拡張させるように構成される要素を含む。一部の応用の場合この要素は血管内部に配置されるが、他の応用の場合この要素は血管外部に配置される。例えば、要素は電気、圧電性要素及び(または)液圧を用いて要素の形状を変化させるために駆動される1つまたはそれ以上のマグネット及び(または)コイルを含むことができる。一部の応用の場合、要素は心臓周期の1つの段階中エネルギーを蓄積しかつ心臓周期の別の段階中この蓄積されたエネルギーを使用して要素の形状を変化させるように構成される。一部の応用の場合、機械的力を与えるための要素は電極のうちの1つまたはそれ以上としても作用する。
一部の応用の場合、要素は血管の断面形状を心拡張期にもっと楕円形にするように構成される(硬い血管は一般にほぼ円形の断面形状を持つことに留意すること)。その結果、圧受容体は一般に心収縮期により大きな形状変化を検出する。例えば、要素は断面形状を変化させるために弱いバネとして機能するように構成される。
本発明の1つの実施態様において、治療法は、動脈の柔軟性を従って圧受容体の感度を増すために圧受容体付近の動脈からプラークを取り除くステップを含む。例えば、プラークを取り除くためにSilverHawkTMプラーク捻除システム(FoxHollow Technologies,Inc.,カリフォルニア州レッドウッド)を使用することができる。
本発明が特に図に示され上に説明されるものに限定されないことが当業者には分かるだろう。本発明の範囲は上述の様々な特徴の結合及び小結合並びに以上の説明を読んで当業者が思いつくような先行技術にないその変形及び修正を含む。

を含む、患者を治療するための方法。 - 該方法において、前記信号を与えるステップが前記患者の網膜動脈の拡張を誘発するのに充分なNO生成を誘発するように前記信号を構成するステップを含む、請求項63に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記信号を与えるステップが前記患者の視神経の変性を最小限に抑えるのに充分な前記NO生成を誘発するように前記信号を構成するステップを含む、請求項63に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記電気信号を与えるステップが前記眼の中に光電池を配置するステップ及び前記電池が発生した電力を用いて前記信号を与えるステップを含む、請求項63に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記信号を与えるステップが前記眼の内部で誘導的にエネルギーを受け取るステップ及び前記受け取ったエネルギーを用いて前記信号を与えるステップを含む、請求項63に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記信号を与えるステップが前記眼の網膜の後の部位に前記信号を与えるステップを含む、請求項63に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記患者の症状を確認するステップが、前記患者が緑内障を患っていることを確認するステップを含み、かつ該方法において、前記信号を与えるステップが前記眼の眼内圧力を下げるため充分なNO生成を誘発するように信号を構成するステップを含む、請求項63−68のうちいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記信号を与えるステップが前記眼の線維性帯網付近におけるNO生成を誘発するために角膜の周りに前記信号を与えるステップを含む、請求項69に記載の方法。
- 患者の圧受容体付近の前記患者の血管に電気信号を与えるステップと、
前記血管の壁の拡張を生じるのに充分な前記血管の前記壁による一酸化窒素(NO)分泌の増大を誘発するように前記信号を構成することによって前記圧受容体を活性化するステップと、
を含む方法。 - さらに前記圧受容体付近の前記血管を機械的に拡張するステップを含む、請求項71に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記信号を与えるステップが前記患者の心臓周期の特徴を検知するステップ及び前記検知された特徴に応じて前記信号を与えるステップを含む、請求項71−72のうちいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記信号を与えるステップが心収縮期の少なくとも一部において前記信号を与えるステップ及び心拡張期の少なくとも一部において前記信号を与えることを控えるステップを含む、請求項73に記載の方法。
- 患者体内に人工血管を植え込むステップと、
前記人工血管に電気信号を与えるステップと、
前記人工血管の内腔において成長する内皮細胞による一酸化窒素(NO)分泌の増大を誘発するように前記信号を構成するステップと、
を含む方法。 - 該方法において、前記信号を構成するステップが前記内皮細胞の成長の結果として蓄積された血小板を脱凝集するためにNO分泌を誘発するように前記信号を構成するステップを含む、請求項75に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記信号を構成するステップが前記内腔における内皮細胞の成長を誘発するように前記信号を構成するステップを含む、請求項75に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記信号を構成するステップが3から20Hzまでの周波数を持つように前記信号を構成するステップを含む、請求項75に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記信号を構成するステップが5ボルト未満の電圧を持つように前記信号を構成するステップを含む、請求項75−78のうちいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 血管へ分化するように幹細胞を誘導するステップと、
前記幹細胞のうちの1つ、血管が派生するときの血管の細胞及び血管が派生した後の血管の細胞から成るグループから選択される少なくとも1つの細胞に電気信号を与えるステップと、
選択された少なくとも1つの細胞による一酸化窒素(NO)分泌の増大を誘発するように前記信号を構成するステップと、
を含む、幹細胞から血管を派生させるための方法。 - 該方法において、前記少なくとも1つの細胞が前記幹細胞のうちの少なくとも1つを含み、かつ該方法において、前記信号を与えるステップが前記幹細胞のうちの前記1つに前記信号を与えるステップを含む、請求項80に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記少なくとも1つの細胞が前記血管が派生するときの前記血管の前記細胞を含み、かつ該方法において、前記信号を与えるステップが前記血管が派生するときの前記血管の前記細胞に前記信号を与えるステップを含む、請求項80に記載の方法。
- 該方法において、前記少なくとも1つの細胞が前記血管が派生した後の前記血管の前記細胞を含み、かつ該方法において、前記信号を与えるステップが前記血管が派生した後の前記血管の前記細胞に前記信号を与えるステップを含む、請求項80に記載の方法。
- 患者の圧受容体付近など前記患者の血管の壁でのプラークの集積を確認するステップと、
動脈から前記プラークを除去することによって前記圧受容体付近の前記動脈の柔軟性を増すステップと、
を含む方法。 - 該方法において、前記血管が頚動脈及び大動脈弓付近の大動脈から成るグループから選択される、請求項84に記載の方法。
