- a) 부분적으로 내부공간을 형성하는 하우징; 및b) 상기 하우징의 내부공간속에 위치하는 다수의 배플(baffle)을 포함하며, 상기 배플은 연속적으로 아래위치로 수직하게 이격된 적어도 제1 및 제2레벨에 정렬되며, 상기 적어도 제1 및 제2레벨의 각 레벨은, 입자들이 한 레벨에서 다음의 하측 레벨로 이동함에 따라서 하향유동입자의 방향을 횡방향으로 이동시키기 위해, 서로 평행하게 배향되어 수평방향으로부터 경사지게 배치되는 일렬의 두 배플을 포함하며, 상기 배플은 1열의 구멍이 인접열의 구멍에 대해 어긋나게 배치되도록 두개 평행열에 배치된 다수의 구멍을 포함하는 기체와 하향유동하는 고체입자를 역류접촉시키기 위한 장치에 있어서,상기한 각 배플은 배플길이를 형성하는, 서로 대향하며 평행하는 제1 및 제2 톱니형 엣지(edge)를 가지며, 각 톱니형 엣지는 교호로 형성된 능선부와 노치를 포함하며;상기 제1톱니형 엣지의 능선부 및 노치는 제2톱니형 엣지의 능선부와 노치에 대하여 어긋나게 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 기체와 하향유동하는 고체입자를 역류접촉시키기 위한 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 노치는 각도 α를 형성하는데, α는 60° 내지 120°인 것을 특징으로 하는 기체와 하향유동하는 고체입자를 역류접촉시키기 위한 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 각각의 구멍은 0.5 내지 6인치의 직경을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 기체와 하향유동하는 고체입자를 역류접촉시키기 위한 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 장치는 적어도 4개의 레벨을 포함하며, 입자의 하향유동방향은 입자들이 한 레벨에서 하측의 후속레벨까지 이동함에 따라서 45° 내지 180°의 각도만큼 측방으로 이동되는 것을 특징으로 하는 기체와 하향유동하는 고체입자를 역류접촉시키기 위한 장치.
- 제8항에 있어서,상기 각도는 90°인 것을 특징으로 하는 기체와 하향유동하는 고체입자를 역류접촉시키기 위한 장치.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 제 3 레벨에서 하향유동하는 입자의 측방향은 상기 제 1 레벨에서 하향유동하는 입자의 측방향의 반대방향이며, 상기 제 4 레벨에서 하향유동하는 입자의 측방향은 상기 제 2 레벨에서 하향유동하는 입자의 측방향의 반대방향인 것을 특징으로 하는 기체와 하향유동하는 고체입자를 역류접촉시키기 위한 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 배플은 수평방향으로부터 각도β만큼 경사지는데, β는 20° 내지 80°인 것을 특징으로 하는 기체와 하향유동하는 고체입자를 역류접촉시키기 위한 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 하우징은 사각형 단면을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 기체와 하향유동하는 고체입자를 역류접촉시키기 위한 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 하우징은 원형 단면을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 기체와 하향유동하는 고체입자를 역류접촉시키기 위한 장치.

- 하향유동하는 소모된 촉매입자로부터 동반탄화수소증기(entrained hydrocarbon vapor)를 제거하기 위한 스트리퍼(stripper)를 포함하는 유동식접촉분해장치에 있어서,상기 스트리퍼는,a) 스트리퍼 하우징;b) 상기 스트리퍼 하우징속으로 스트리핑가스를 도입하기 위한 수단; 및c) 상기 스트리퍼 하우징속에 위치하는 다수의 편평한 배플을 포함하며,상기 배플은 연속적으로 아래위치로 수직하게 이격된 적어도 제1 및 제2레벨에 정렬되며,상기 제1 및 제2레벨의 각 레벨은, 촉매입자들이 한 레벨에서 다음의 하측 레벨로 이동함에 따라서 가로질러 하향유동촉매입자의 방향을 횡방향으로 이동시키기 위해, 서로 평행하게 배향되어 수평방향으로부터 경사진 일렬의 두 개의 배플을 포함하며,상기 각 배플은 배플길이를 형성하는 서로 대향하며 평행하는 제1 및 제2 톱니형 엣지를 가지며, 각 톱니형 엣지는 교호로 형성된 능선부와 노치를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 유동식접촉분해장치.
- 제 16 항에 있어서,상기 각 배플의 상기 제 1 톱니형 엣지의 능선부 및 노치는 제 2 톱니형 엣지의 능선부와 노치에 대하여 어긋나게 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 유동식접촉분해장치.
