Claims (5)
- 한 쌍의 기판 사이에 액정을 유지한 액정 장치로서,상기 한 쌍의 기판 중 적어도 한쪽 기판에, 입사광의 편광축의 방향과 평행 방향 및 수직 방향으로 연장하는 금속 차광 패턴이 마련되고,상기 액정의 명시 방향(clear viewing direction)은 상기 금속 차광 패턴에 의해 구획되는 직사각 형상의 화소 영역의 변에 대하여 경사지게 교차하고,상기 화소 영역의 네 개의 코너 중 적어도 하나의 코너에서 상기 금속 차광 패턴의 둘레는 상기 입사광의 편광축 방향에 대하여 경사지게 교차하는 부분을 갖고, 또한상기 명시 방향과 반대측에 위치하는 코너에서 상기 금속 차광 패턴의 둘레는 상기 입사광의 편광축의 방향과 평행 방향으로 연장하는 부분과 수직 방향으로 연장하는 부분으로 이루어지는것을 특징으로 하는 액정 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판은 화소 스위칭 소자를 갖는 소자 기판과 대향 기판으로 이루어지고, 상기 소자 기판에 있어서의 상기 화소 스위칭 소자보다 광입사측에 상기 금속 차광 패턴이 마련되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 대향 기판에 차광 패턴이 마련되고,상기 차광 패턴은 상기 금속 차광 패턴의 개구부에 있어서 상기 명시 방향과 반대측에 위치하는 코너의 근방을 덮는 형상으로 되어있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 금속 차광 패턴은 상기 입사광의 편광축의 방향과 평행 방향으로 연장하는 패턴과 수직 방향으로 연장하는 패턴으로 이루어지고, 이들 패턴이 별도의 층으로 구성되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 장치.
- 광원과, 상기 광원으로부터의 광을 변조하는 광 변조 수단과, 상기 광 변조 수단에 의해 변조된 광을 투사하는 투사 수단을 구비한 투사형 표시 장치로서,상기 광 변조 수단으로서, 청구항 1 내지 3 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 액정 장치를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 투사형 표시 장치.
