Abstract

본 발명에 따른 차량용 변속장치는 메인드라이브클러치(14), 다중변속비형 변속기(12), 변속기의 작동변속기어를 결합시키기 위한 기어결합기구(25)와, 그리고 변속장치가 수동모드로 작동될 때에 운전자가 수동으로 변속기의 작동변속기어를 선택할 수 있도록 하는 수동작동변속기어셀렉터(24)를 가진다. 또한 차량의 시동과 정지시에 그리고 기어의 전환중에 드라이브 클러치의 분리와 결합을 제어하고 기어셀렉터(24)의 운동에 응답하여 기어결합기구(25)의 작동을 제어하는 전자제어유닛(36)이 포함되어진다. 또한 상기 전자제어유닛(36)은 그 수동모드에서 사전에 결정된 작동조건이 발생하는 경우 현재조건을 위한 보다 적절한 변속비를 선택할 수 있도록 운전자에 의하여 현재 선택된 변속비를 무시하도록 구성되어진다. 또한 변속장치는 자동작동모드를 가지며, 전자제어수단(36)은 변속장치가 그 자동모드에서 작동할 때에 선택될 변속비를 결정한다.

Description

차량용 변속장치{VEHICLE TRANSMISSIONS}
본 발명은 다중 변속비형 변속기(multi-ratio gearbox)를 포함하는 차량용 변속장치(vehicle transmissions)에 관한 것이며, 더욱 상세하게는 자동변속비 선택모드(automatic ratio selection mode)를 가지는 변속장치에 관한 것이다.
본 발명의 목적은 개선된 형태의 차량용 변속장치를 제공하는데 있다.

본 발명에 따라서 차량용 변속장치가 제공되어지는데, 상기 차량용 변속장치는 메인 드라이브 클러치(main drive clutch), 다중변속비형 변속기(multi-ratio gearbox), 변속기의 작동변속기어를 결합시키기 위한 기어결합기구(gear engaging mechanism), 변속장치가 수동모드(manual mode)로 작동될 때 운전자가 수동으로 변속기의 작동 변속기어를 선택할 수 있도록 하는 수동작동 변속기어 셀렉터(manually operable gear selector)와, 그리고 차량의 시동과 정지시에 그리고 기어전환 중에 드라이브 클러치의 분리와 결합을 제어하고 그리고 기어 셀렉터 운동에 반응하여 기어결합기구의 작동을 제어하는 전자제어수단(electronic control means)을 포함하는 것에 있어서, 상기 변속장치는 사전에 결정된 작동조건이 그 수동모드에서 발생하는 경우, 전자제어수단은 현재조건을 위한 보다 적절한 변속비를 선택하도록 운전자에 의해서 현재 선택된 변속비를 무시하도록 구성되어지는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 선호적인 실시예에 있어서, 변속장치(transmission)는 자동작동모드를 가지며, 전자제어수단 또한 변속장치가 그 자동모드에서 작동될 때 선택될 변속비를 결정한다.
일반적으로, 수동모드의 오버라이드(override)는 다음의 사전 결정된 작동조건들 중 어느 하나가 발생될 때에 이루어지게 된다.
1. 사전에 결정된 엔진속도가 초과되는 경우, 변속비의 상향이동이 수행되어지게 된다.
2. 엔진속도가 사전에 결정된 레벨(예를 들어, 1050 rpm)이하로 떨어지는 경우, 변속비의 하향이동이 수행되어지게 된다. 낮은 변속비 선택으로부터 나타나는 엔진속도가 현재 한계값(예를 들어 1050 + 300 rpm) 이하로 유지되는 경우, 하향이동(downshift)만이 이루어지도록 전자제어수단은 설정되어질 수 있다.
변속장치(transmission)는 또한 운전자가 원하는 경우에 변속장치에 의해서 자동으로 선택되어지는 변속비를 무시할 수 있도록 되는 것이 선호적이다.
본 발명은 단지 실례로서 기술되어지는 다음의 첨부도면을 참고로 하여 더욱 상세하게 설명되어진다.
도 1은 변속기 입력축(gearbox input shaft, 15)을 경유하여 5단속도 부축형 변속기(five speed lay-shaft type gearbox, 12)에 마찰클러치(friction clutch, 14)를 통해서 결합되어지는, 시동기(starter) 및 시동회로(10a)를 가지는 엔진(10)을 도시하고 있다. 기술된 실례에서, 연료는 액셀러레이터 페달(accelerator pedal, 19)에 의해서 작동되어지는 스로틀밸브(throttle valve, 18)를 포함하는 스로틀(16)에 의해서 엔진으로 공급되어진다. 본 발명은 전자 또는 기계적 연료주입형 휘발유 또는 디젤엔진에도 동일하게 적용할 수 있다.
클러치(14)는 슬레이브 실린더(slave cylinder, 22)에 의해서 작동되어지는 해제포크(release fork, 20)에 의해서 작동되어진다.
변속기의 작동변속비의 선택은 수동으로 또는 자동으로 제어되어질 수 있다.
기어선택레버(gear selector lever, 24)는 중간트랙(cross track, 53)으로 연결된 두개의 가지트랙(limb, 51,52)을 가지는 게이트(gate, 50)에서 작동한다. 상기 선택레버(24)가 가지트랙(51)에 있을 때 변속장치는 수동모드로 작동하며, 레버(24)는 해제될 때에는 중간위치(51a)로 복귀하도록 이동되어진다. 중간위치(51a)로부터 하향변속위치(51b)로의 레버(24)의 각각의 운동은 변속기의 현재 작동변속비에서 한 변속비의 하향변속을 선택하며, 상향변속위치(51c)로의 각각의 운동은 한 변속비의 상향변속을 선택한다.
가지트랙(limb, 51,52)에서 레버(24)의 위치는, 그 신호출력 (Vs)이 전자제어유닛(36)으로 공급되어지는 일련의 감지기(sensor, 33) (예를 들어 게이트 둘레에 간격을 두고 배치된 광감지기와 마이크로 스위치)에 의해서 검출되어진다. 상기 제어유닛(36)은, 예를 들어 요구된 변속기어에 결합하도록 셀렉터부재를 이동시키는 유압램과 솔레노이드 제어밸브를 포함하는 기어결합기구(gear engaging mechanism, 25)에 신호를 다시 보낸다. 적절한 기어결합기구의 한 실례는 영국특허 출원번호 제9502140.8호에 개시되어지고 청구되어지고 있다.
게이트(50)의 가지트랙(52)은 네 개의 위치, 즉 자동변속기어선택모드에서 작동시 차량을 주차시키고자 할 때 레버(24)가 위치되어지는 "P" 위치, 레버가 후진기어를 선택하도록 위치되어지는 "R" 위치, 레버가 중립위치를 선택하도록 위치되어지는 "N" 위치, 그리고 차량의 현재작동조건에 따라서 변속기의 전진구동기어가 제어유닛(36)에 의해 자동적으로 선택되어져야하는 것이 요구될 때 레버가 위치되어지는 "D" 위치의 네 개의 위치를 가진다.
"D" 위치에 있을 때, 제어유닛(36)은 현재 차량의 작동조건에 가장 적합한 변속비를 결정하고, 기어결합기구(25)로 적절한 변속비선택신호를 보낸다.
적절한 작동변속비를 결정하기 위하여, 제어유닛(36)은 엔진속도감지기(26)로부터 엔진속도에 비례하는 신호 (Ve)와 같이, 다수의 차량작동파라메타 감지기(vehicle operating parameter sensor)로부터 신호를 수신한다. 신호 (Vt)는 현재 스로틀 개방정도에 비례하여 스로틀밸브 위치감지기(30)로부터 수신되며, 액셀러레이터 페달 위치감지기(19a)는 제어유닛(36)으로 액셀러레이터 페달위치 감지기신호(Va)를 공급하도록 제공되어진다. 특정한 시스템의 구성에 있어서는, 감지기 (19a) 및 (30) 중 하나만이 제공되어질 수 있다. 대부분의 경우에서는, 감지기 (19a)가 제공되어진다.
또한 제어유닛(36)은 현재 결합된 변속비에 일치하는 기어위치 감지기(32)로부터 기어신호 (Vg)를 수신하며, 슬레이브 실린더(22)의 위치에 따라서 달라지는 슬레이브 실린더 위치감지기(34)로부터의 신호 (Vc)를 수신하며, 변속기축(gearbox shaft, 42)의 속도를 감지하는 속도감지기(42)로부터 클러치구동판 속도에 비례하는 신호 (Vdp)를 수신한다. 예를 들어, 가변 릴럭턴스형(variable reluctance type) 차량속도감지기(45)는 제어유닛(36)에 차량속도신호 (Vv)를 공급하도록 제공되어진다. 특정한 실시에서는, 구동판속도 감지기(42)는 생략되어질 수 있으며, 구동판속도는 차량속도와 현재 결합된 변속비로부터 제어유닛(36)에 의하여 계산되어질 수 있다.
특정한 차량작동조건이 발생될 때에 차량운전자에게 경고하도록 부저(buzzer, 50)가 제어유닛(36)에 연결되어진다. 상기 부저(50)와 함께 그리고 이를 대신하여, (도시되지 않은) 경고등(warning light)이 사용되어질 수도 있다.
상기에서 언급된 바와 같이, 제어유닛(36)은 클러치(14)의 결합과 분리를 제어한다. 이는 제너레이터(generator, C)에서 요구된 엔진속도를 나타내는 기준신호(reference signal) (Vr)를 발생하는 제어유닛(36)에 의해서 수행되어진다. 상기 기준신호는 에러신호(error signal, E)를 발생하기 위하여, 엔지속도감지기(26)로부터의 실제 엔진속도신호 (Ve)와 비교기(comparator) (A) 내에서 비교되어지며, 상기 에러신호는 제어유닛(36)이 유압제어장치(38)에 출력하는 클러치결합제어신호(Vce)를 제공하도록 감지기(34)로부터의 클러치작동기 위치신호 (Vc)와 비교기 (B)내에서 비교되어진다. 이러한 일반적인 방법에서 제어유닛(36)의 작동은 본 발명의 출원인의 유럽특허 제0038113호 및 제0043660호에서 더욱 상세하게 기술되어져 있다.
클러치(14)의 결합과 분리를 제어함과 더불어, 또한 제어유닛(36)은, 액셀러레이터(19)의 운전자 조작에 의해서 설정된 스로틀개방의 오버라이드(override)가 요구되어지는 것을 제어논리(control logic)가 나타낼 때, 스로틀제어장치(37)를 통하여 스로틀설정을 제어한다. 일부의 적용예에 있어서, 스로틀제어장치(37)는 생략되어질 수 있으며, 또는 기어변속 동안 토크감소(torque reduction)가 가변엔진 타이밍 또는/및 연료공급(현존하는 어떠한 전자엔진 관리시스템을 이용하는 것이 가능한)에 의하여 수행되어질 수 있다.
본 발명에 따르면, 제어유닛(36)은 도 2에서 개략적으로 도시된 수동 오버라이드 루우틴(routine)을 포함하며, 이러한 루우틴 하에서 만일 사전에 결정된 작동조건이 발생한다면, 변속장치가 수동변속비 선택모드에 있을 때, 제어유닛은 작동 변속비의 제어를 그 자동모드로 전환할 것이며, 현재차량의 작동조건에 보다 적절한 작동비를 자동적으로 선택할 것이다.
도 2로부터 알 수 있는 바와 같이, 다음의 사전에 결정된 작동조건들 중 어느 하나가 발생될 경우 수동오버라이드가 발생하게 된다.
1. 만일 사전에 결정된 엔진속도(예를 들어, 6300 rpm)가 초과되는 경우, 변속비의 상향이동이 실행되어지게 된다.
2. 만일 엔진속도가 사전에 결정된 레벨(예를 들어, 1050 rpm) 이하로 떨어지는 경우, 낮은 변속비선택에 의해 기인되는 엔진속도상승이 사전설정된 한계값 (예를 들어 1050 + 300 rpm) 이하에 있다고 가정할 때 변속비의 하향이동이 실행되어진다.
상기 사전결정된 한계값은 엔진제동(engine braking)을 억제하도록 하며 최대로 가능한 변속기의 선택이 이루어질 수 있도록 한다. 본 발명의 특정한 실시의 경우에 있어서는, 상기 사전결정된 한계값은 생략되어질 수 있어서, 엔진속도의 레벨이 어떠하든지 간에 하향이동이 실행되어지도록 한다. 상기 실행의 하나의 이용은 비상조건에서 엔진제동을 보장하는 것이다.
상기 조건 1에 대한 테스트가 도 2의 박스 X에서 이루어졌으며, 조건 2에 대한 테스트는 도 2의 박스 Y 및 박스 Z에서 이루어졌다. 만일 사전설정된 엔진속도 한계값이 요구되어지지 않는 경우 박스 Z는 생략되어진다.
이와 같이, 운전자가 제어유닛(36)에 의하여 현재 선택된 변속비를 무시하는 것을 원하는 경우(정상자동모드 또는 수동오버라이드 조건에서 작동하던지 간에), 운전자는 레버(24)를 게이트(50)의 적절한 위치 (51b), (51c)로 이동시키면 되고, 그 이후에 이러한 변속비는 상기 두 상태조건에 대한 검토가 다시 이루어지기 전에 지정된 시간동안 유지되어지게 된다.
비록 본 발명은 수동 및 자동작동모드로 작동하는 변속장치와 관련하여 상기에서 기술되어지고 있으나, 본 발명은 자동작동모드를 가지지 아니하며 전자제어유닛이 선택된 변속비에 결합하도록 기어결합기구(25)에 요구된 신호를 공급할 때 작동변속비가 선택레버(24)의 운전자조작에 의해서 선택되어지는 변속장치에서 실행되어질 수 있는 것으로 이해되어진다. 이러한 구성에서, 전자제어수단은 만일 상기에서 언급된 사전결정된 작동조건이 발생되는 경우 운전자에 의해서 현재 선택되어지는 변속비를 무시하도록 구성되어지게 된다.

Claims (5)

  1. 메인드라이브클러치(14), 다중변속비형 변속기(12), 변속기의 작동변속기어를 결합시키기 위한 기어결합기구(25), 수동모드로 작동될 때에 운전자가 수동으로 변속기의 작동변속기어를 선택할 수 있도록 하는 수동작동 변속기어셀렉터(24)와, 차량의 시동과 정지시에 그리고 기어전환 중에 드라이브 클러치의 분리와 결합을 제어하고 기어셀렉터(24)의 운동에 응답하여 기어결합기구(25)의 작동을 제어하는 전자제어수단(36)을 포함하는 차량용 변속장치에 있어서,
    상기 전자제어수단(36)은 운전자에 의해서 현재 선택된 변속비로부터, 만일 수동모드에서 엔진속도가 사전에 결정된 값보다 상승한다면 더 높은 변속비로, 또는/및 만일 수동모드에서 엔진속도가 사전에 결정된 엔진속도 이하로 떨어진다면 더 낮은 변속비로 자동적으로 전환하도록 구성되어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 변속장치
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 자동작동모드가 제공되어지며, 상기 전자제어수단(36)은, 변속장치가 자동모드로 작동될 때, 선택되어지는 변속비를 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 변속장치
  3. 제 1 항에 있어서, 엔진속도가 사전에 설정된 레벨이하로 유지되지 않는 한 하향이동이 이루어지지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 변속장치
  4. 제 2 항에 있어서, 자동모드로 작동될 때에 운전자가 기어셀렉터(24)의 운동에 의해서 현재 선택된 변속비를 수동으로 무시할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 변속장치
  5. 제 4 항에 있어서, 수동 오버라이드가 발생될 때에 수동으로 선택된 오버라이드 변속비는 지정시간동안 제어수단에 의하여 결합된 상태로 유지되고, 그 이후에 자동 오버라이드 기능이 다시 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 변속장치
