Abstract
Description
Claims (13)
- 매우 낮은 듀티 사이클의 펄스들을 생성하는 장치에 있어서,소정의 간격에 대응하여 주기적으로 펄스를 출력하고, 상기 펄스의 폭은 입력 전압(32)의 크기에 의해 제어되는 것인 펄스폭 변조 수단(22) - 상기 펄스폭 변조 수단(22)은, 상기 소정의 간격으로 동기화 펄스(46)를 생성하는 수단(30)과, 전압원 단자(핀 9)와 접지 사이에 연결되어 기준 전류를 끌어 당기는 타이밍 저항(38)과, 상기 전압원 단자(핀 9)를 나가는 전류의 함수인 충전 전류를 수신하며 상기 입력 전압(32)과 비교되고 적어도 2개의 기울기를 갖는 파형(도 4)을 특징으로 하는 램핑 전압을 제공하는 타이밍 커패시터(36)를 더 포함함 - 과;상기 펄스폭 변조 수단(22)으로부터 상기 동기화 펄스(46)를 수신하고, 상기 전압원 단자(핀 9)를 나가는 전류를 증가시켜, 상기 타이밍 커패시터(36)의 충전 속도를 증가시키고, 조정 가능한 시정수(R2, C2)의 함수인 일정 시간 동안 상기 타이밍 커패시터(36)가 충전하는 속도를 변화시키는 수단을 포함하는 것인 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 타이밍 저항(38)을 통하여 흐르는 상기 기준 전류를 변화시키는 수단은,상기 펄스폭 변조 수단(22)으로부터 상기 동기화 펄스(46)를 수신하고, 상기 동기화 펄스(46)를 제1 기준 전압(96)과 비교하여, 상기 동기화 펄스(46)가 상기 제1 기준 전압(96)보다 작은 경우에는 "로우" 신호를 출력하고, 상기 동기화 펄스(46)가 상기 제1 기준 전압(96)보다 큰 경우에는 "하이" 신호를 출력하는 제1 비교기(52)와;상기 제1 비교기(52)의 출력이 "하이"일 때 저항(58)을 통하여 제1 커패시터(44)를 충전시키고, 상기 동기화 펄스(46)가 "로우"일 때 상기 제1 커패시터(44)를 방전시키는 제1 비교기(52)의 출력과 연결된 전압원(48)과;상기 제1 커패시터(44)의 전하량을 제2 기준 전압(50)과 비교하여, 상기 제1 커패시터(44)의 전하량이 상기 제2 기준 전압(50)보다 작은 경우에는 "로우" 신호를 출력하고, 상기 제1 커패시터(44)의 전하량이 상기 제2 기준 전압(50)보다 큰 경우에는 "하이" 신호를 출력하며, 그 출력이 제2 저항(56)을 통하여 상기 전압원 단자(핀 9)에 연결되어 있는 제2 비교기(54)를 포함하는 것인 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서, 양극이 상기 제2 비교기(54)의 출력과 연결되고 음극이 접지와 연결되는 제2 커패시터(40)를 더 포함하는 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 매우 낮은 듀티 사이클의 펄스들을 생성하는 장치는 발광 수단(26)용 조광 회로에 사용되는 것인 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,빛을 방출하는 수단(26)과;상기 빛을 방출하는 수단(26)에 전력을 제공하는 전력원(37)을 더 포함하며,상기 펄스폭 변조 수단(22)은 상기 빛을 방출하는 수단(26)의 휘도를 제어하는 것인 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 빛을 방출하는 수단(26)은 형광 백라이트인 것인 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 빛을 방출하는 수단(26)은 액정 표시 장치에 사용되는 형광 백라이트인 것인 장치.
