Abstract

PURPOSE: An apparatus for rubbing an alignment film of a liquid crystal display is provided to prevent a rubbing cloth from being damaged due to a height difference between a table and a substrate. CONSTITUTION: A table of a rubbing apparatus includes a main table(20) for adsorbing a substrate(22) and side tables(21) located around the main table. The side tables compensates a height difference between the main table and the substrate, caused by the thickness of the substrate. The main table has the same size as the size of the substrate. The main table has the first pins(23) for deciding the position of the substrate and the second pins(24) for fixing the substrate to the main table. The side tables are moved vertically.
