Abstract

본 발명의 목적은 헬름헤르츠 공조상자(Helmheltz Resonator)를 이용하여 노킹음에 의한 진동음을 감쇄시킬 수 있는 엔진의 노킹소음 저감장치를 제공하는데 있다.
상기한 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명의 수단은 노킹 주파수에 튜닝되어 노킹 소음을 흡수하도록 실린더 헤드(1)에 형성된 호리병 형태의 헬름헤르츠 공조상자(8)와 연소가스가 폭발되어 피스톤(2)이 하강하는 동안에 발생하는 노킹음 발생구간에 상기 헬름헤르츠 공조상자의 입구를 연소실(3)에 대하여 개방하는 밸브(9)와 를 포함하여 구성되어 있음을 요지로 하고 있다.

Description

엔진의 노킹소음 저감장치
본 발명은 엔진의 노킹소음 저감을 위한 장치에 관한 것이다.
가솔린 엔진에 있어서 노킹은 혼합기의 화염전파중 엔드가스(end gas)가 순간 폭발될 때 발생하는 압력파가 실린더 내부에 가진되어 가스진동을 일으키게 되는 현상을 말하는 것으로 노킹이 발생하면 엔진이 심하게 진동하는 소음이 크게 발생하므로 승차감을 크게 저하시키게 된다.
그러나 종래의 경우 스파크 플러그의 점화시기 제어 및 화염전파 특성 등을 감안하여 혼합기의 유동 특성을 변화시키는 측면에서의 연소실의 설계등에만 의존하므로써 노킹음 발생을 감소시키는데는 한계가 있는 것이었다.
이에 본 발명은 상기한 문제점을 감안하여 제안된 것으로서 그의 목적으로 하는 헬름헤르츠 공조상자(Helmheltz Resonator)를 이용하여 노킹음에 의한 진동음을 감쇄시킬 수 있는 엔진의 노킹소음 저감장치를 제공하는데 있다.
상기한 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명의 수단은 노킹 주파수에 튜딩되어 노킹 소음을 흡수하도록 실린더 헤드에 형성된 호리병 형태의 헬름헤르츠 공조상자와 연소가스가 폭발되어 피스톤이 하강하는 동안에 발생하는 노킹음 발생구간에 상기 헬름헤르츠 공조상자의입구를 연소실에 대하여 개방하는 밸브와;를 포함하여 구성되어 있음을 요지로 하고 있다.

이하 본 발명의 실시예를 첨부한 도면을 참조하여 설명한다.
도 1은 본 발명에 의한 노킹음 저감을 위한 연소실의 구조를 나타내는 도면으로 도면중 부호 1은 실린더 헤드이며 실린더 헤드(1)와 피스톤(2)사이의 공간부는 연소실(3)이다.
상기 실린더 헤드(1)에는 흡기포트(4)가 형성되어 혼합기를 도입하게 되며 흡배기포트(4)(5)에는 각기 흡기 또는 배기밸브(6)(7)가 개폐가능하게 마련되어 있다.
연소실(3)내에서 실린더 헤드(1)를 바라본 모습을 도시한 도 2 에서 볼수 있듯이 흡배기밸브(6)(7) 위치의 양측으로 호리병 형태의 헬름헤르츠 공조상자(8)가 1개 이상, 본 발명 실시예에서는 2개가 연소실(3)에 연통하도록 실린더 헤드(1)에 형성되어 있다.
상기 헬름헤르츠 공조상자(8)의 입구는 직경이 작은 원통형 구멍이고 그의 후단은 구형상의 공간부로 형성되며 연소실(3)의 용적이 330㏄ 일때 대략 입구구멍의 직경은 8㎜, 구형공간부의 직경은 15㎜로 내용적이 대략 5.3㏄ 정도 되는 크기로 형성하는 것이 좋으며 이는 가솔린 엔진의 실린더내에서 발생되는 대략 6∼9㎑의 노킹을 흡수할 수 있도록 헬름헤르츠(Helmheltz)의 이론에 따라 설계한 결과이다.
상기 헬름헤르츠 공조상자(8)는 밸브(9)에 의해 연소실(3)과 개방되거나 단절되며밸브(3)는 상부의 캠(10)의 회전에 의해 개폐 작동되고 밸브(9)의 폐쇄는 밸브스프링(11)의 탄발력에 의한다.
상기 밸브(9)는 도 3 에서 도시하는 것과같이 피스톤(2)이 상사점 위치에서 폭발에 의해 하강할 때 노킹발생구간(a∼b)에서 헬름헤르츠 공조상자(8)를 연소실(3)에 대해 완전 개방하게 되며 혼합기의 화염 전파중 엔드가스(End gas)가 순간 폭발할 때 압력파에 의해 진동을 일으킬 때 개방된 공조상자(8)에 의해 노킹주파수가 흡수되어 진동할 수 없게 되는 것이다.
이상과 같은 본 발명에 의한 노킹음 저감을 위한 연소실에 의하면 실린더 헤드에 노킹 주파수에 튜닝한 헬름헤르츠 공조상자를 마련하고 노킹 발생구간에 맞추어 개폐토록 하는것에 의해서 엔드가스가 순간 폭발할 때 발생하는 압력파에 의한 진동음을 감쇄시키게 되므로써 안락한 운전이 가능하게 된다.

Claims (2)

  1. 노킹 주파수에 튜딩되어 노킹 소음을 흡수하도록 실린더 헤드에 형성된 호리병 형태의 헬름헤르츠 공조상자와 연소가스가 폭발되어 피스톤이 하강하는 동안에 발생하는 노킹음 발생구간에 상기 헬름헤르츠 공조상자의입구를 연소실에 대하여 개방하는 밸브와 를 포함하여 구성되어 있음을 특징으로 하는 엔진의 노킹소음 저감장치.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 밸브는 캠의 회전과 밸브스프링에 의해 개폐되는 것임을 특징으로 하는 엔진의 노킹소음 저감장치.
