- 回転中心軸(O)を有する略円柱形状の工具ボデー(20)であって、
前記工具ボデー(20)の外周面(23)に、前記工具ボデーの基端側から先端側に延びるように形成されたらせん溝(28)と、
前記らせん溝に沿って前記基端側から前記先端側に互いにずれるように形成された複数のインサート座とを備え、
前記インサート座(30)は、底面(31)と、該底面(31)に交差し前記工具ボデー(20)の基端側を向いた第1側面(32)と、前記底面に交差し前記工具ボデー(20)の先端側を向きかつ前記第1側面(32)よりも基端側に位置する第2側面(33)とを備え、
工具ボデー(20)の最も先端側に位置するインサート座(30)よりも基端側に位置する少なくとも1つのインサート座(30)においては、前記第1側面(32)の長さ(L1)が前記第2側面(33)の長さ(L2)よりも長い、
ことを特徴とする工具ボデー(20)。 - 前記らせん溝(28)を複数備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の工具ボデー(20)。
- 前記工具ボデーの最も先端側に位置する前記インサート座(30)では、前記第2側面(33)の長さ(L2)が前記第1側面(32)の長さ(L1)よりも長い、
ことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の工具ボデー(20)。 - 同一の前記らせん溝(28)内にある複数の前記インサート座(30)のうち、少なくとも、前記最も先端側にあるインサート座(30)及び最も基端側にあるインサート座(30)以外の全てのインサート座(30)においては、前記第1側面(32)の長さ(L1)が前記第2側面(33)の長さ(L2)よりも長い、
ことを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の工具ボデー(20)。 - 前記複数のインサート座(30)は、前記らせん溝(28)内において階段状に形成されている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の工具ボデー(20) - 1つのインサート座の前記底面の前記回転中心軸周りの回転軌跡は、該1つのインサート座の隣りのインサート座に部分的に重なる、ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の工具ボデー。
- 前記底面(31)は略三角形形状を有している、
ことを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の工具ボデー(20)。 - 請求項1から7のいずれかに記載の工具ボデー(20)のインサート座(30)の各々に、切削インサート(40)が着脱自在に装着される、
ことを特徴とする刃先交換式回転切削工具(10)。
