Abstract

PURPOSE:To make plating metal melt into pin holes and cracks having been produced at the time of press-forming so that these holes can be filled up, by performing heat treatment after press-forming to bring the plating layers into a half molten state. CONSTITUTION:By using a commertial turn-sheet having been subjected to Pb-Sn (Sn: 8 to 10%) plating, first, press-forming s carried out to obtain a fuel tank body, and then, the fuel tank body is heated to approximately 265 deg.C to 300 deg.C. In this heat treatment, the Pb-Sn plating is maintained in a solid-liquid coexistent region. As a result, the Pb-Sn plating alloy becomes a half molten state and melts into pin holes 3 and cracks 3, having been produced in plating layers 1 by preceding press-forming process, so that these holes are filled up. Thus, without increasing the amount of Pb-Sn plating alloy to be adhered, corrosion resistance can be significantly enhanced.
