Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow a captioned device to show a damping function performance without hindrance even in high temperature by providing a rack and supporting rod connected to two members relatively moving in vibration respectively, gear converting linear motion to rotary motion and centrifugal brake. CONSTITUTION:When a pipeline 3 is vibrated by such external force as an earthquake or the like, a rack 11 and supporting rod 13 perform relative and linear motion through spherical bearings 12 and 14, and this linear motion is converted to rotary motion by a gear 17. The brake shoe 19 connected to a disk 18 is pushed against a brake drum 23 due to centrifugal force caused by the rotary motion for stopping the rotary motion. This restricts the relative and linear motion of the rack 11 and supporting rod 13 resulting in the damp of the vibration of the pipeline 3. Low speed displacement due to heat expansion or the like will not cause enough centrifugal force against the brake shoe 19 to bring it into contact with the brake drum 23. The low speed displacement of the pipeline 3 caused by heat expansion or the like will not, therefore, be restricted.
