Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable an easy and quick setting operation of an X-ray monochromator, by putting an X-ray tube and a spectroscopic crystal which consist of a monochromator on a single rotating table, and by setting an X-ray spectroscopic crystal which can be rotated on the rotating table. CONSTITUTION:A rotating table 4 is set at an approximately predictable angular position on a situation which a slit 12 is detached, and a spectroscope 6 is finely adjusted. And then, the slit 12 is attached and the rotating table 4 is settled by rotating the table 4 to the position where an incident X-ray to a detector 9 is maximized as shown by dotted line x in the figure; thereby, a setting of a whole device is completed. Consequently, by exchanging the slit 12 with a random sample 7, by setting the detector 7 at an appropriate position as shown by chain lines in the figure and by starting up a goniometer 1, an X-ray diffraction curve of the sample 7 is obtained. With this procedure, the setting operation can be easily and quickly performed.
