Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a measurement with high resolutions, by extracting a frequency component higher than a peak frequency value from an received echo signal from an ultrasonic probe to be a measuring data. CONSTITUTION:An focus converging type ultrasonic probe 3 of an ultrasonic wave inspection mechanism 21 moves in a directions X and Y with a scanner 4 under the control of an ultrasonic wave inspection mechanism control section 22 to scan an object 2 to be inspected. A pulser receiver 10 of the control section 22 receives a signal from the probe 3 to display a received waveform thereof on an oscilloscope 11 while being sent to an image processor 23 via a gate circuit 12 and an A/D converter 14. A microprocessor 15 of the device 23 is subjected to a Fourier transform of an input signal to extract a frequency component value higher than the peak frequency thereof and then, the intensity of the signal is converted to a brightness to be displayed on a CRT 19 as image. This improves the reduction of focus to enable measurement with high resolutions.
