CONSTITUTION:A thin ferromagnetic metallic film 2 is formed on a nonmagnetic base 1. A lubricating agent layer 3 consisting of the perfluoropolyether having the carboxyl group at the terminal and the org. amine expressed by R-NH2 (where R denotes a hydrocarbon group of >=3C) is deposited on the thin ferromagnetic metallic film 2. A long-period lubricating effect is thereby maintained even under various usable conditions and the magnetic recording medium which exhibits the excellent traveling property, wear resistance and durability and has the excellent rust preventive effect is obtd.
