Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high-performance magnetic powder required for making rare earth-iron-boron magnet a high-performance magnet using the resin attachment method by introducing a powder particle of rare earth elements-transient metal-boron alloy into plasma flame and by coating a nucleus part consisting of rare earth-iron-boron with rare earth iron low melt-point alloy which is rich in rare earth elements. CONSTITUTION:Powder particles of rare earth elements-transient metal-boron family alloy whose particle diameter was aligned to range from 10 to 30mum, the thickness of surface thin film layer part of the powder particles (0.25-1.5mum) is made to be rare earth iron low-melt point alloy which mainly consists of rare earth elements, and the nucleus part is made to be the main phase consisting of rare earth-iron-boron for hardening within cooled gas. For example, by introducing magnetic powder which is obtained by crashing an alloy mass of neodymium 33weight%, iron 65.7weight%, and boron 1.3weight% to then it into particles whose diameter ranges from 10 to 30mum into argon plasma flame with argon gas as a carrier gas, an alloy powder with a particle diameter of 1 to 30mum is obtained, where the surface layer consists of a low melt-point alloy of neodymium-iron family with neodymium 80weight% over a surface layer thickness of 0.25 to 1.5mum and the nucleus consists of a main phase of neodymium-iron-boron.
