Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a ferrite magnet from being broken by coating magnetic poles with metals through the metallic flame spray coating.
CONSTITUTION: For example, after the surface of magneto-arch-shaped magnets is made coarse by sand blast, a metallic film (for instance, Zn or Cr-Fe) is coated on the magnet surface by propane gas oxigen flame spray coating or plasma flame spray coating. The metallic film can be formed on all the surfaces of the magnet, but it may well formed only on the magnetic surface. At this case, roundness is pre- applied to the magnet end and epoxy resin is coated on the sides other than the magnetic pole and cured. Since the coating of the metallic film is effective to prevent the magnet from being broken and uniformalizes the uniformity of magnetization of conventional magnet, applied magnetic pole iron pieces can be omitted.
