Abstract
PURPOSE:To aim at compactifying a controlling mechanism in structure and improvement in its functional reliability and so on by connecting one side of arms installed in respective shafts of a pair of elliptic gears interlocking with front-wheel steerage, to a link, while connecting this link to a rear-wheel steering member. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel 2 is turned to the right, by way of example, a tie rod 8 is moved to the left, and since a knuckle arm 6 is rotated clockwise with a fulcrum shaft 6a as the center, front wheels 4 are steered to the right. At this time, with an input shaft 10 rotated, an arm 51 is rotated clockwise together with a shaft 42 via each of bevel gears 41, 43 in a steering-angle ratio controlling mechanism 12. And, simultaneously an arm 48 of a shaft 45 is rotated counterclockwise via each of elliptic gears 49, 46. And, when the arm 51 is rotated clockwise as far as a specified angle (less than about 50 degrees), the arm 48 rotates as far as about 100 degrees counterclockwise. In consequence, the front end of a link 50 is titled to the left, while a pin 14 at the rear end is moved to the left, so that rear wheels 27 are steered to the same phase as the front wheels 4.
