Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a desired steering characteristic so stably by clamping a rotary cam to an input shaft interlocking with a steering wheel, holding this rotary cam in between with rotary rollers clamped to a rocking yoke, and steering rear wheels after converting rotation of the rotary cam into rocking motion of the rocking yoke. CONSTITUTION:A dislike rotary cam 22 with a cam surface 24, varying the axial position along the circumferential direction, is clamped to a rear-wheel steering input shaft 5 to be rotated as interlocking with a steering wheel. And the cam surface 24 of the rotary cam 22 is held in between by a pair of rotary rollers 26. And, each rotary roller 26 is clamped to one end of a rocking yoke 27 supported free of rocking motion. In addition, the other end of the rocking yoke 27 is connected to reai wheels 18 via linkage. At this time, the cam surface 24 is formed into a taper form to be thinned in proportion as going to the radial outward of the rotary cam 22, and the rotary roller 26 is tilted so as to be paralleled with this taper surface and fixed, while the rotary roller 26 is energized in the radial direction of the rotary cam 22 with a spring 34.
