Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable multi-layered build-up welding with excellent wear resistance by specifying the chemical components of the filler material used in a composite wire composed of a low-carbon steel hoop and the filler material. CONSTITUTION:The composite wire for hard facing build-up welding consisting of the low-carbon steel and the filler material is used. The chemical components of the filler material are specified to contain, by weight, at least >=2 kinds of the elements among 5-7% C, <=0.2% Si, 0.3-2.5% Mn, 20-30% Cr, 1-5% Mo, 4-8% Nb, 2-8% V, and 0.2-0.4% B and to contain 0.05-1% Al+Ti as the essential element as well as to contain the balance Fe. As a result, the multi-layered build-up welding to a large thickness is enabled; in addition, the welded part has the high resistance to impact and wear. This wire is applied to the production of rolls, pull rings, etc., of grinding mills for coal, slag, etc. The wear life ot these parts is prolonged and the reliability thereof is improved.
