Abstract
PURPOSE:To change the liquid level of a high temperature liquid in a vessel as desired, by providing a detecting means for detecting the liquid level of the high temperature liquid, an overflow opening in a vertical direction and a controller for controlling the lift volume of a pump upon receipt of a signal from the liquid level detecting means. CONSTITUTION:There are an overflow system, in addition to a cooling system, in a vessel 4 of a nuclear reactor, whereby the liquid level of a liquid sodium in the vessel 4 is maintained constant irrespective of the operating condition of a circulating pump of the cooling system. By the overflow system, the liquid sodium in an overflow tank 1 is sucked up by an electromagnetic pump 2 via a lift piping 3 into the vessel 4, and then, returned to the tank 1 via an overflow pipe 6 and a return piping 7. The overflow pipe 6 stands up in the vessel 4, having a funnel provided at the upper end thereof. Moreover, the pipe 6 is provided with many overflow openings 5 in the up-and-down directions. Meanwhile, for controlling the liquid level of the liquid sodium to be constant, a signal of the liquid level detected by a level detector 15 is inputted to a controller 16 which generates an output to control the suck-up volume of the pump 2 so as to maintain the liquid level constant.
