Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an easy-to-see screen and at the same time to facilitate a port positioning operation by detecting automatically an idle area (including no existing port) on a physical screen and adding automatically a new port to said idle area. CONSTITUTION:An FW information table 1 is provided to store the size of a physical screen together with a port control table 2 storing the positions and sizes of ports, a cell dividing means 3 for physical screen, and the means 4 and 5 which detect the count value of each cell and position a new port at the cell having the minimum count value. Then the physical screen is divided into plural cells based on the rectangle of the port to be added. The number of existing ports are checked for each cell and the new port is set at the cell of the minimum count value. Thus it is possible to avoid the superposition of ports and also to facilitate a port positioning operation.
