Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the stage difference of a surface potential at the end of a film by forming an electric charge transfer layer with a prescribed film thickness on the surface of a substrate by winding and laminating a prescribed film around said surface of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:The prescribed film 104 with <=5mum film thickness is wound around a cylindrical substrate plate 102, while fusing said film by for example a heating roller 103 until the film with 10-100mum total film thickness is formed around the substrate 102. Next, if necessary, after thermally treating said film, an electric charge generating layer 303 is formed on the charge transfer layer 302 composed of the film 104. Said film 104 contains preferably a straight chain high polymer (such as polyphenylene sulfide) which contains a P-phenylene nucleus and one or more atoms. selected from the group comprising O, S, Se and Te atoms. at the para position of said nucleus. Thus, the stage difference of the surface potential at the end of the film is reduced, and the defect of an image due to fusion is lessened.
