Abstract
PURPOSE:To start a pump quickly and surely by guiding the pressure of the vane lower section generated on the discharge side to the vane lower section on the intake side with little pressure loss. CONSTITUTION:A vane 4a on the discharge side is lowered while being engaged with a cam ring 2 as a rotor 3 is rotated. The pressure generated in a vane groove 21 by the descent of this vane 4a is not released to the discharge passage 15 side because the first back pressure groove 23a is cut off from a pressure chamber 40 with the low pressure. The second back pressure groove 26 is connected as one groove, thus the pressure of the vane 4a lower section is guided to a vane groove 21b via the vane groove 21a and the second back pressure groove 26 while being decreased gradually. The back pressure lifting the vane 4b in the centrifugal direction toward the inner periphery 20 of the cam ring 2 is thereby obtained.
