Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a vane pump to drive at a high speed, by forming a cam ring in an annulus with U-shaped cross section to reduce the friction between the cam ring and a vane.
CONSTITUTION: A cam ring 6 of a vane pump is rotated in the same direction as the rotation of vanes 5, 5', and rotor 3. A suction opening 1 and a discharge opening 8 are set up in the place of the contact point with a center shaft 7 to allow the shape of the cam ring to be U-shaped so as to reduce the friction between the cam ring 6 and the vanes 5, 5', 5" to almost zero. As the friction between the vanes 5, 5', 5" and the cam ring 6 occurs only in the length of the twise of the eccentricity of the rotor 3 per a rotation of the rotor 3, the vane pump can be rotated at a high speed.
