Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by performing changeover such that discharge oil from a sub-pump is fed to an oil gallery in a low engine speed, and to only an oil cooler in a high engine speed, and thereby reducing a specified capacity of main pump and an amount of relief oil. CONSTITUTION:An oil feeding device is composed of a main pump 2 with a comparatively large capacity, which feeds oil stored in an oil pan 1 to an oil gallery through a discharge oil passage 8, and a sub-pump 4 which mainly pressure-feeds oil to an oil cooler 3. A changeover control valve 15 which is sensitive to a hydraulic pressure in the discharge oil passage 8 is arranged between oil passages 14, 12 for connecting the discharge oil passage 8, to the discharge port of the sub-pump 4 and the oil cooler 3, respectively. The changeover control valve 15 performs changeover-control by feeding the discharge oil from the sub-pump 4 to the oil gallery through a second intake port 21 and a second discharge port 22 when the engine-speed is low, and feeding the discharge oil from the sub-pump 4 to the oil cooler 3 through a first intake port 20 and a first discharge port 22 when the engine speed is high.
