Abstract
PURPOSE:To save oil comsumption and prevent reduction in oil pressure by installing a valve, which opens when supercharger pressure is increased, between a main gallery connected to the oil pump discharge port and a piston cooler nozzle, and stopping oil injection at the time of a low load operation. CONSTITUTION:A main gallery 2 is connected to the discharge port of an oil pump 1 which discharges the oil in a oil pan 11. Branching from this main gallery 2 are oil passages 12, each equipped with a piston cooler nozzle 3 to eject cooling oil for each piston 7. Installed at the position where the main gallery 2 starts branching off into cooling oil passages 12 is a valve 13 which opens and closes in response to the discharge pressure of the supercharger compressor. At the time of a low load with attendant low supercharger pressure, the valve shuts off the branches, and the oil ejection is stopped, preventing overcooling, excess oil consumption and reduction in oil pressure.
