Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce friction on each sliding part, by supplying a lubricated section with lubricating oil of low viscosity when a cold engine is started or warmed up. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating oil changeover controller 13 receives signals SW, SS, SE such as the temperature of cooling water, the state of an ignition switch and the revolution speed of an engine. When the controller 13 judges that lubricating oil of low viscosity needs to be supplied at or just after the starting of the engine with the cooling water of low temperature, the controller 13 regultaes a solenoid valve 12 to supply the lubricating oil of low viscosity to the inlet port of an oil pump 6 through a low-viscosity oil supply passage 7. In the oil pump 6, the lubricating oil of low viscosity and lubricating oil from an oil sump 2 are mixed together so that lubricating oil of low viscosity is supplied under pressure to each lubricated part from a discharge port 11.
