Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled stable superconductive ceramics having a higher critical temp. than the temp. of liq. nitrogen by molding and sintering prescribed amts. of powdery starting materials for Y, Ba, Cu and Mo. CONSTITUTION:Starting materials for Y, Ba, Cu and Mo, e.g., Y2O3, BaCO3, CuO and MoO3 are weighed by prescribed amts. so as to obtain a desired compsn. and they are ground and mixed by means of a ball mill or a grinder. The resulting powdery mixture for sintering is mixed with a flux such as a halide of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal as required and it is calcined at 500-950 deg.C and pulverized to prepare fine powder for sintering having <=1mum particles size and a uniform particle size distribution. The fine powder is molded and sintered at 850-1,000 deg.C in the air or in oxygen to obtain the titled stable superconductive ceramics having >=95k critical temp. and an oxygen-deficient laminar perovskite structure. The ceramics contains Mo in an atomic ratio satisfying 0<Mo/Cu<1.
