Abstract
PURPOSE: To expand the turning range of a robot arm and speed up its drive by arranging an idler drum turnably in the middle of first/second drums and keeping the winding angle of a high elastic material to the second drum stuck the robot arm at 180 deg. or more. CONSTITUTION: A drive shaft side drum (a first drum) 3 is rotated by the drive of a drive motor 1 and its rotational force is transmitted to a driven shaft side drum (a second drum) 5 through a steel belt (high elastic body) and a robot arm 6 stuck to this drum 5 is turned. Meantime, an idler drum 8 is provided near the driven shaft side drum 5 and by this idler drum 8, the winding angle of the steel belt 4 wound to the driven shaft side drum 5 is made to 180 deg. or more. As this result, the turning range of the robot arm 6 can be expanded and the arm 6 can be turned with a high speed and a high accuracy.
