Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of a speed increasing mechanism by engaging a sun gear fixed to a crank shaft with an internal gear via an intermediate gear and engaging the other internal gear with an output gear fixed to a chain wheel via a planetary intermediate gear integral with the crank shaft. CONSTITUTION: A sun gear 3 turning integrally with a crank shaft 1 fixed to a crank arm 2 is engaged with an internal gear 8 via an intermediate gear 4 fixed to a case 6. The internal gear 8 is fixed to a support wheel 9 and the same internal gear 10 is fixed to the other side and is engaged with an output gear 14 rotating integrally with a chain wheel 15 via a planetary intermediate gear 13 fixed to an arm rotating integrally with the crank shaft 1 and can be driven thereby and can be increased in speed by the planetary intermediate gear 13 to increase the rotational speed of the crank arm 2, thereby transmitting the increased rotational speed to the chain wheel 15. This can simplify the structure of the whole speed increasing mechanism and arrangement and reduce the size thereof.
