Abstract

CONSTITUTION:In a fuel injection pump, fuel is sucked into a pressurizing chamber 6, and after having been pressurized it is discharged by reciprocating a plunger 1 inside a barrel 2. Further, fuel injection quantity is regulated by regulating the effective stroke of the plunger 1 while relatively rotating the plunger 1 and the barrel 2. In this case, on the side circumferential surface 1a of the plunger 1, both a lead 11 consisting of an inclined groove and communicating with the pressurizing chamber 6, and a circumferential groove 12 extending in parallel to the circumferential direction of the plunger and communicating with the same pressurizing chamber 6 are formed. And a first port 4 capable of being superposed on the lead 11 is formed on the barrel 2, and further a second barrel 3 provided with a second port 5 which is capable of being superposed on the circumferential groove 12 is fitted on the plunger 1.
