Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform the repair of a faulty point in a cable line in a short time by cutting the faulty point into parts of suitable length and by connecting a repair connection unit with the parts. CONSTITUTION:A repair connection unit 30 forming, at both ends of a cable 32 of suitable length, the right half part 40R and the left half 41L of a connection using an insulating tube 42 is manufactured beforehand. When a fault occurs, the repair connection unit 30 is carried to the spot and inserted between two parts of a cut cable. The cable 10L is fitted with a shell tube 62, beforehand. A cable conductor 12 and the conductor 48 of the insulating tube 42 are pressure-connected with each other by the use of a sleeve 64, the shell tube 62 is put thereon, and the inner part of the tube 62 is filled with an insulation oil or compound 70 to form the left half part 40L of the connection. The connection 40 is constituted by the left half part 40L and the right half part 40R. Also, the right side cable 10R and the repair connection unit 30 are connected in like manner to complete the repair work.
