Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a superconducting material capable of exhibiting superconducting phenomenon at high temperature, by subjecting a powdery blend containing a group IIIa element of the periodic table, Cu, Ba, Zr and Y to calcining and sintering treatment. CONSTITUTION:A powdery blend prepared by blending a group IIIa element (M) of the periodic table or a compound powder thereof having 0.1-10mum particle diameter with Cu (compound powder), Ba (compound powder) and Zr (compound powder) and Y is calcined at 700-1,000 deg.C to afford a calcined substance, which is then pulverized so as to provide 0.1-10mum particle diameter and afford powder of the calcined substance. The resultant powder is subsequently sintered at 850-1,050 deg.C in an oxygen-containing atmosphere under 10<-3>-10<3>Torr and cooled at <=100 deg.C/min cooling rate to afford the aimed superconducting material expressed by the formula [w, x, y and z are 0.3<=w<=1.8; 0.05<=x<=1.8; 2.0<=z<=5.0; 0.01<=y<=0.6 when (Cu1-xZry) is assumed as 1].
