Abstract

PURPOSE:To limit the magnetization inversion region where recording is executed to a region to be irradiated with laser light as far as possible so that high- density recording is executed by providing a high-temp. superconductor film having a specific thickness between a trasparent substrate the magnetic material film. CONSTITUTION:The high-temp. superconductor film 3 is provided on the transparent substrate 2 and the magnetic material film 4 and an auxiliary film 5 are provided thereon. The high-temp. superconductor film 3 is formed to >=500Angstrom thickness. The intrusion of magnetic lines of force into the region lower than the transition temp. is then prevented by the property of the complete diamagnetism by the transition temp. of the high-temp. superconductor film 3 and the generation of the inversion magnetization in the magnetic material film in this region is prevented so that the inversion magnetization is generated in the magnetic material film 4 only within the region above the temp. at which the superconductive state is broken. The magnetization inversion region where the recording is executed is thereby limited only to the region to be irradiated with the laser light as far as possible and the higher density recording is executed.
