Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically detect an abnormal state, by mounting a piezoelectric element for converting the vibration from a vibration generating source to an electric signal and comparing the vibration waveform in the normal state from the vibration generating source with that from the piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:For example, a piezoelectric element 1 is embedded in a vibration generating source such as the motor, gear, cutting tool or vane pump of a lathe and connected to a control apparatus 11. A control operation part 11a, a memory part 11b having a vibration waveform in a normal state stored therein and an alarm generating member 14 are mounted on the control apparatus 11. The vibration waveform from the element 1 and that sent out from the memory part 11b are compared and operated by the operation part 11a and, when both waveforms are different, a stop signal is sent to a machine driving part 19 and an alarm is generated from the member 14. Therefore, the abnormality of the machine can be automatically detected.
