Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a device of this smaller and lighter, and to be improved in resolution as well by a method wherein a filter is provided which is made of an electrochromic material. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state image sensing element 3 such as a CCD or the like is mounted on a package formed of ceramic or the like, which is connected with a lead 5 through a bonding wire 4. And, three kinds of electrochromic material, 1a, 1b, and 1c are held on the upper face of the package or the front face of the solid-state sensing element 3 through four transparent electrodes 2a-2d to form filters. The electrochromic material changes in color from transparency to red, blue, and green depending on on-off of the electric field, which is for instance made of rare earth diphthalocyanine, biorogen derivative, or the like. By these processes, the whole pixels of the solid-state image sensing element are made effective in all colors, with improved resolution as well as smaller and lighter.
