Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the display with good color balance by covering the difference of hue among three colors, through the transparent rate of the chromatic filters of three colors put in the order of blue, red, and green, in the color liquid crystal display panel formed in matrix shape.

CONSTITUTION: Between the substrates 7, 7 forming the transparent electrodes 8, 8 in matrix shape, the liquid crystal layer 9 having almost 90° of twisted construction is provided, and outside of the substrates 7, 7, a pair of polarized plates 10, 10 parallel in the direction of polarization are respectively located. Between the liquid crystal and electrode of the cross point of the matrix electrode, the inorganic thin film filters 11 of red, blue and green are alternately formed toward line direction, and three colors are corresponded to one video element of black-and- white television as one set. When the same effective voltage is fed to the video element of three colors, if the transparent rate of the filter is the same, since the hue is smaller in the order of green, red, and blue, by decreasing the transparent rate of the filters in the in the order of blue, red, and green, with the same effective voltage, the color balance and contrast are excellent and when observed as a black-and-white television, the entire can not be observed as being colored.
