Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure plural objects to be measured, by delivering (n) optical signals with different wavelength to an optical sensor terminal provided at the other end of an optical fiber by switching them, and detecting back scattered light from the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The optical sensor terminal 3 is provided with an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer 9 in addition to optical sensors 11-1n, and the optical multiplexer/demultiplexer 9 demultiplexes or multiplexes the optical signal from the optical fiber 2 to optical signal components L21-L2n having wavelength lambda1-lambdan. The output terminal of a switch circuit 5 is selected by a control monitoring part 4, and an electrical pulse signal St is delivered to electrooptical converters 21-2n. Converted optical pulse signals L11-L1n are delivered to the fiber 2 in time series via an optical multiplexer 6 and a directional coupler 7. By supplying the back scattered light from the fiber 2 to the monitor part 4 via the coupler 7 and a photoelectrical converter 8 and detecting it at the monitor part 4, the measurement of the plural objects to be measured can be performed.
