Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove the waste of dye laser beams, and to adjust the pulse width of dye laser beams from a dye laser oscillator by broadening the pulse width of laser beams for excitation projected to the dye laser oscillator. CONSTITUTION:Excitation beams emitted from lasers 1, 3 for excitation are introduced to a semitransparent mirror 7 by total reflection mirrors 5, 6 for adjusting an optical axis. When the laser pulses of the lasers 1, 3 for excitation are given the time approximately corresponding to the pulse width of the laser pulses, the excitation beams are passed through or reflected from the semitransparent mirror 7, and the pulse width of synthesized excitation beams is brought to approximately twice as large as the pulse width of original excitation beams. The novel two excitation beams, pulse width of which is broadened, are projected respectively to oscillator cells 104, 204 in separate dye laser oscillator 100 and 200, thus acquiring two kinds of dye laser beams having extremely high monochromaticity and pulse width wider than conventional devices. The dye laser beams obtained are projected respectively to each amplifier 110, 210.
