For nonionic surface active agent, penta-ethylene glycol dodecylether, hexa-, hepta-, octa-ethylene glycol dodecylether, etc., can be used. This makes wetness of negative electrode zinc by alkaline electrolyte good and increases the discharge reaction area of the zinc, thereby the heavy load characteristics are improved, and the discharge utilization factor becomes good.
