Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the use of a rotary drum with a small diameter by retarding a recording signal for a period corresponding to the period of the rotary drum and outputting the recording signal within a period when two heads scan on a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:A channel clock 31a is given to 1/10 frequency division counter 32. In giving a reference clock 37a from an input terminal 37 at a point of time of record start with respect to a head 1a taken as a reference, counters 32, 33, 16, 35 and 63 start counting. Counts 33b, 34b of the counters 33, 36 are retarded by a prescribed time (t) and the result is given to a timing circuit 36, which outputs a prescribed signal in the recording period of a head 1b. On the other hand, number of blocks representing an interval between gap centers obtained from the radius of the rotary drum 3 is obtained and stored in a storage circuit 68 via a terminal 67. The output of the circuit 68 is given to a coincidence detection circuit 69, whose coincidence output goes to 1 when the output of the circuit 68 is coincident with the count 34b. In this case, the time for counting the count is (t) and the signal is retarded by the desired time (t) to eliminate the count error.
