Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the reliability and durability of address signals by making use of a recording track for a fixed head effectively by dividing, processing and recording a digital signal, showing a position on a magnetic tape, on different tracks.
CONSTITUTION: Address signals obtained by address counter 9 are outputted as a low-order digit digital signal from low-order digital counting part 9L and as a high- order digit digital signal from high-order digit counting part 9H. The low-order digit signal is loaded into shift register 6 and binary full-adding circuit 10, and the high-order digit signal into circuit 10. circuit 10 performs full-addition between low-order and high-order digit address signals and its output is loaded into shift register 7. Address data signals of registers 6 and 7 are recorded on different tracks of magnetic tape 1 via fixed magnetic heads 2 and 3.
