Abstract
PURPOSE:To take a measurement with high accuracy by using an integration type solid-state image pickup, high accuracy by switching the integration time of charge accumulation in the states and selecting one of outputs of integration with plural integration times to widen a dynamic range. CONSTITUTION:The FLG(L) (L: output number of picture element) of a CCD picture element where a spectral filter is arranged is decided and when it is '0', data is read in and its most significant digit bit (MSB) is decided. When MSB = 0, I (index of integration time) is increased by one and the integration time is doubled to decide the MSB again. When I = 4, the I is not increased any more, so data is selected here and multiplied by 2<4-1> to standardize data in each integration time. For example, 12-bit data obtained with I=1 (double integration time) is multiplied by 2<3> to set a bit 16 to '0', thereby obtaining 16-bit data. At this time, data up to a bit 3 is obtained. Namely, data which has high accuracy up to low-order bit of 16 bits as the integration time is increased is obtained.
