Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain a pseudo-overwriting by arranging a magnet so that the direction of a magnetic field right below can be mutually made into the reverse direction and using an objective lens for erasing and recording, in a pair of objective lenses. CONSTITUTION:Right below two objective lenses 40 and 41, magnetic fields H1 and H2 in the opposite direction are formed with magnets 42, 43 and 44. The objective lenses 40 and 41 are fitted to one optical head and a laser light is converged to the same track on a recording medium 20. For example, by the converging of the objective lens 41, the recording layer of the recording medium 20 is heated to the extent of a curie point, the magnetization of the recording layer is arranged in the lower direction and erasing is executed. Continuously, the laser light modulated by an information signal is converged from the objective lens 40 to the recording medium 20, and thus, the magnetization of the recording layer is inverted in the upper direction in accordance with the signal and a signal is recorded. Thus, erasing and recording are continuously executed and the pseudo-overwriting can be executed.
