Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute the high speed switching of a magnetic field, by sandwiching a medium, arranging oppositely an impressed magnetic field generating part and a laser beam converging lens for recording, reproducing and erasing, keeping the distance of the impressed magnetic field generating part and the medium in a prescribed interval and moving the position of the generating part to a desired position. CONSTITUTION:By sandwiching a recording medium 1, an impressed magnetic field generating part 3 and a laser beam converging lens 21 for recording, reproducing and erasing is oppositely arranged. A driving means 4 keeps the distance of the medium 1 and the generating part 3 in a prescribed interval, and aligns the track direction of the medium 1 in a radius direction so that a desired impressed magnetic field can be supplied to a laser beam converging position. Namely, by comparing 44 signals from a detecting part 42 to detect the distance fluctuation of the medium 1 and the generating part 3 and a detecting part 43 to detect the radius position of the generating part 3 with the reflecting light from the medium 1, a driving part 41 moves finly the generating part 3 in the radius direction and the dislocation is corrected.
