Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled lightweight molded article of large size or complicated shape, having excellent shape and dimension, by blending superconducting ceramic powder with a binder and molding. CONSTITUTION:Raw material powder blended in a wet state in a given ratio of oxide is dried under reduced pressure at 70-80 deg.C for 10-20hr, calcined in air at 900-1,000 deg.C for 3-8hr to give calcined powder, which is ground, molded into tablets under 1-3t/cm<2> pressure, sintered in a pure oxygen atmosphere at 900-1,100 deg.C for 0.5-2hr and then ground to give superconducting material powder (A). Then 45-65vol.% component A is blended with (B) 55-35vol.% binder consisting of a thermoplastic hydrocarbon (e.g. PE) or thermosetting polymer (e.g. epoxy polymer) and molded into a desired shape.
