Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily obtain in high efficiency high-quality oxide powder as a raw material for superconducting oxide sintered forms through the alkoxide hydrolysis process, by adding a polyhydric alcohol to a solution of metal alkoxide raw material to stabilize said solution. CONSTITUTION:First, a copper alkoxide raw material (e.g. copper butoxide), alkaline earth metal alkoxide raw material (e.g. barium butoxide) and yttrium or rare earth metal alkoxide raw material (e.g. yttrium butoxide) are dissolved in a solvent (e.g. butanol) and mixed. Thence, the resulting metal alkoxide raw material solution is incorporated with a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. ethylene glycol) to effect stabilization followed by adding water to the system to perform hydrolysis followed by drying to produce oxide powder. This powder is then sintered to obtain the objective superconducting oxide sintered form.
