Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled superconductor with enhanced critical temperature and critical electric current density, by incorporating Pt and/or Pd in an oxide- based superconductor having perovskite structure containing rare earth element, alkaline earth metallic element and copper. CONSTITUTION:The objective superconductor with both high critical temperature and critical electric current density can be obtained by incorporating (A) pref. each 0.001-5wt.% of Pt and/or Pd in (B) an oxide-based superconductor having perovskite structure containing Ln element (Ln is Y, La, Sc, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb or Lu), AE element (AE is Ba, Sr or Ca) and Cu. To incorporate Pt and/or Pd in the component B, Pt simple substance, PtO and/or Pd simple substance, PdO is (are) added when mixing the raw materials for the component B such as Y2O3, BaO and CuO.
