Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a maintenance man from mis-setting device numbers by setting a device number to a reference device to automatically set device numbers to all other devices. CONSTITUTION:A reference device 1 is provided with a device number setting part 11 and a fundamental signal generating circuit 10 which receives the output of this setting part 11 to transmit two fundamental signals having a determined delay difference, and devices 2, 3... other than the reference device 1 are provided with delay circuits 20, 30 which receive two fundamental signals and give a determined delay difference to two fundamental signals and output them to following devices and delay difference detecting circuits 21, 31 which detect the delay difference between two fundamental signals. Device number setting circuits 22, 32 which set device numbers in accordance with delay difference information detected by delay difference detecting circuits 21, 31 are provided. Thus, the maintenance man is prevented from mis-setting device numbers, and setting of device numbers is not affected even if devices are installed apart from one another.
