Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a high thermal power and to enable free and arbitrary regulation of the length of flame and a thermal power, by a method wherein an expansion portion is formed in an annular shape in cross section, and communicating portions, capable of communicating combustion gas, are respectively formed on the outer and the inner peripheral side of the expansion portion. CONSTITUTION:A part of combustion gas introduced in an outer cylinder 1 is introduced to the inner peripheral wall side of a discharge port 7 along the outer peripheral surface of an expansion portion 8, an other part thereof to the inner peripheral wall side of the discharge port 7 along the inner peripheral side of the expansion portion 8 through a bypass line 14, and combustion gas is injected in a uniformly dispersed state in the discharge port 7. Besides, after oxygen gas guided through a branch combustible gas line 2 is also agitated by means of the expansion portion 8, it is uniformly distributed in respective branch pipes 9 and injected through the discharge port 7. The two gases are injected to a position to be processed in a state that the two gases are externally mixed together on the extension line of the discharge port 7 and form a flame with a large bore for convergence. With the progress of the gases from the center side toward the peripheral edge side of the discharge port 7, the strength of flame is decreased to enable provision of a preferable thermal power distribution curve.
