Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency and stability of a blast furnace operation by specifying the ratio of the velocity of flow of the gas for initiating the fluidization of charge raw materials and the average velocity of flow of the gas in the furnace top part at the time of charging the prescribed raw materials to the prescribed region in the axial central part of the blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:The velocity of flow of the gas for initiating the fluidization of the raw materials M, designated as Umf, and the average velocity of flow of the furnace top gas, designated as Ut, are controlled to 0.30<=Ut/Umf<=0.52 at the time of charging the raw materials M (coke) to the prescribed region in the axial central part of the blast furnace and charging the other raw materials Ma (ore) to the periphery thereof. The deposition width S of the raw materials M is thereby reduced to a narrow region, by which the central fluidization of the rising gas in the furnace is accelerated and the furnace condi tion is additionally stabilized.
